Skoda Motorsports has showcased a new all-electric concept racing car: The new Enyaq RS Race. The new model is said to supprt the development of innovative technologies and sustainable materials, in addition to serving as a pilot project for future production models.
The low and wide concept car incorporates innovative, sustainable biocomposite parts that provide the same rigidity and weight advantages as carbon fibre, contributing to an overall weight reduction of more than 300kg compared to the new Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS, which it is based off and shares its powertrain with.
In addition, the concept benefits from numerous visual and technical modifications, including an optimised chassis, redesigned bumpers, as well as modified shock absorbers and springs.
A completely new high-performance braking system, racing seats, and a roll cage ensure the highest possible active and passive safety. The concept vehicle's front is now defined by its sleek, high‑gloss black Tech‑Deck Face, with Skoda lettering replacing the logo on the bonnet. The car is also equipped with new segmented LED rear lights.
The Enyaq RS Race concept car's two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 250kW (335bhp) and its 82kWh battery are identical to those in the Enyaq Coupe RS. And just like the production car, the concept car's top speed is 180km/h, its lighter weight means that it now completes the century sprint in under five seconds.
The new Enyaq RS Race also features a Havas premium sound system that incorporates a digital sound amplifier to deliver a characteristic, exhilarating motorsport sound, which is activated at speeds above 30km/h.
