Porsche has announced that it delivered 68,426 units to customers worldwide in the first quarter of 2022, representing a decline of 5% compared to the previous year.
The numbers however, still represent healthy sales, given that Porsche only recently announced that 2021 was a record year when it came to sales volumes.
19,029 units of the Porsche Cayenne were delivered to customers in Q1 of 2022, while deliveries of the Macan (pictured) for the period totalled 18,329 The firm states that it delivered 22,791 vehicles in Europe in the quarter, marking a year-on-year increase of 18%. Numbers were also up in the home market of Germany, with 6,925 deliveries representing an increase of 16%.
In China, however, the largest single market for Porsche, saw sales reaching 17,685 deliveries, a decline of 20% compared to the same period of the previous year. Porsche states that the renewed outbreak of the coronavirus associated with the closure of Porsche Centres in some regions and logistic challenges, resulted in this decline.
In total, 28,991 vehicles were delivered to Porsche customers in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East. In the U.S.A meanwhile, 13,042 vehicles were delivered to Porsche customers despite supply and transit issues affecting multiple automotive brands.
