Cat A COE - Continuing to head downwards
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, or electric vehicles with a power output of up to 110kW, still continued to see premiums heading downward this session, with a slip of $3,499 this round (4.2%) seeing premiums settle at $80,501.This lastest slip means premiums for the category now standing at 18.7% above the 12-month trailing average. This price is now at the 85th percentile of prices across the last 12 months.
The total number of bids submitted this session exceeded the number of unsuccessful bids this round by 28%, lower than the 12-month average of 43% for the category.
Cat B COE - Taking a $12,195 hit
Premiums for Cat B, for larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, or electric vehicles with a power output of more than 110kW, took a sizable hit this session. Premiums in the category slipped by a total of $12,195 (11.3%) this session to settle at $95,856.This slip sees premiums for the category now standing at just 2.3% above the 12-month trailing average. This price is now at the 56th percentile of prices across the last 12 months.
The total number of unsuccessful bids this round exceed the quota available by 34%, lower than the 12-month average figure for this category of 41%.
Cat C COE - First drop since May 2022
Premiums for Cat C, for goods vehicles and buses, also slipped this session, falling by $1,010 (1.5%), to close at $65,991.

Cat E COE - Still above the $100,000 mark
Cat E, the open category, also took a sizable slip this session, dropping by $2,200 (2.1%), to bring the premium for the category to $105,001.This new slip means current premiums for the category are now at 9.4% above the 12-month trailing average.
