You've seen them plying the streets here as part of the GetGo fleet, but now, you'll also be able to secure one all for yourself.

Hyundai Singapore has announced that the all-electric Ioniq 5 will soon be available here, with 100 examples of the car to be available for bidding come 12 January 2023, at 2:30pm.

The first 100 examples of the locally-built Ioniq 5 will all come with commemorative number plates
Just what makes these 100 vehicles so special you ask? For starters, they will be the first all-electric cars to come out of the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore, making them, of course, also the first road-legal production all-electric cars to be built in our sunny island.

And as if that was not special enough, these 100 first cars are also all set to come with commemorative number plates, which will range from 'EVS 1L' to 'EVS 100J', short for 'EV made in Singapore'.

Hyundai Singapore states that the cars will also sport Gravity Matte Gold exteriors, Dark Pebble Grey interiors, signature 'First 100' badges and inaugural debossed seats, all designed to further set the first 100 examples apart.

On the inside, special debossed seats will further set the first 100 Ioniq 5s apart
The proceeds from the bidding of these first 100 Ioniq 5s will be donated to the President's Challenge. 100% of donations raised under President's Challenge go to beneficiary organisations, which includes various social service agencies.

No exact drivetrain details have been revealed yet for the Ioniq 5s headed here, although Hyundai Singapore does state that the car will come with a battery pack offering up to 77kWh of capacity, alongside a range of up to 507km. This means that the long-range, two-wheel drive variant of the car available internationally will be headed here at least.

Nonetheless, we understand from Hyundai Singapore that the first 100 cars will come in the highest trim available.
