The all new GLA 45 AMG expands the extensive SUV lineup to five models, closely following the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG. It is the third vehicle with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine to appeal to a younger motoring audience.

The side sill panels with matte titanium grey inserts, the 'Turbo AMG' insignia on the front wings and the aluminium roof rails lend the compact SUV a special touch.
The rear end is dominated by the diffuser insert with matte titanium grey trim and the rectangular chrome-plated tailpipe. The flap in the rear silencer is continuously adjusted to suit the load conditions and engine speed.
The speed sensitive three-spoke sports steering wheel ensures high steering precision and agility, while stopping power is provided via vented, cross-drilled brake discs highlighted by grey brake callipers. For a more striking visual appearance, the callipers can be optionally finished in red.
The hand-assembled 2.0-litre turbo is regarded by Mercedes-AMG as the most powerful, force-fed four-cylinder unit. Producing 360bhp and peak torque of 450Nm, it helps the GLA achieve its century sprint in a brisk 4.8 seconds before climbing to a governed top speed of 250km/h.

Under normal conditions, the GLA 45 AMG transmits power to the front wheels for greater efficiency, but when conditions require, the torque is split between the front and rear axles to a 50:50 ratio.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed sports transmission features three distinct transmission modes, a double-declutching function and a 'Race Start' function for the best off-the-line acceleration.
The shift times in manual mode 'M' and sport mode 'S' are similar in character to those on the range-topping SLS AMG GT.
Despite the noteworthy performance, the GLA 45 AMG returns 13.3km/L - which translates to CO2 emissions of 175g/km. Also by complying with EU6 emissions standards, the GLA 45 AMG affirms that there is no need to compromise environmental compatibility with performance.
As in all AMG models, the interior delights consumers with high quality appeal, combined with sporty flair and exclusive equipment features. Sports seats are finished in Artico faux leather and Dinamica microfibre with red contrasting topstitching. The trim of the instrument panel is of brushed aluminium and in tandem with the brushed stainless steel front door sills, emphasising the high grade exclusive ambiance of the GLA 45 AMG.
