Held across Levels 3 and 4 of the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 10 to 13 January 2019, the Singapore Motor Show 2019 showcases 31 automotive brands, displaying more than a hundred cars. And even if you're not in the market for a new car, here are 10 newly unveiled models worth checking out.
1. Alpine A110
Designed to thrill and engage at all speeds, the mid-engine, rear-wheel driven A110 offers the most stripped-back driving experience with an unfiltered connection between driver and machine, all to embody the gripping drive personality that is above all, a true Alpine.
It does this without compromising on everyday comfort, and can be enjoyed by drivers at all levels of experience or ability. Inspired by the original A110 Berlinette, Alpine's most iconic model, the new A110 forms a link between the brand's heritage and its future, whilst also creating a design language that would stand the test of time.
The A110 is currently undergoing homologation and local Alpine distributor Wearnes Automotive is pricing it at $285,000 when it goes on sale soon.
2. Audi Q3
The new Audi Q3 made its Asian debut at the Singapore Motor Show. The new car features the latest Audi design language for its SUVs, being even sportier and features the Singleframe grille in octagon design.
The interior is designed around the driver, introducing some of the latest innovations from the brand. These include the latest Audi virtual cockpit and a development of the touch display concept that debuted on the brand's flagship limo, the Audi A8. The system ensures that the new Q3 has the latest in connectivity capabilities.
At the same time, it's extremely versatile thanks to the rear seats, which can be adjusted fore/aft and for tilt, height-adjustable loading floor, along with numerous storage compartments. The new Q3 is expected to go on sale earliest from June 2019.
3. BMW 3 Series
This latest 3 Series sees BMW building in particular on its sporting tradition, whose exploits in race competition have earned it so much extra dynamic credibility. The seventh generation of the sports sedan moves the game on once again in terms of driving dynamics and quality.
The brand's new design language also brings a clear arrangement of surfaces to the interior. This accentuates the spaciousness of the cabin and, together with the cockpit's focus on the driver, enhances their concentration on the road.
It's expected to go on sale in Q2 of 2019, and will initially be offered in 330i guise with Luxury and M Sport variants. The Luxury variant is expected to cost around $220,000, while the M Sport variant will be priced in the region of $230,000 to $240,000.
4. Citroen C5 Aircross
The stylish, new C5 Aircross SUV is 100% Citroen in its personality and is the most comfortable and versatile SUV in its segment. At 4.5m long, the C5 Aircross stands out on the road thanks to its powerful and dynamic personality with its large 720mm wheels, 230mm ground clearance, wheel arch protectors, and stylish, two-tone roof bars.
The cabin of C5 Aircross is spacious and luxurious, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which displays the selected information in the driver's field of vision. The wide and tall central console and the raised seats give you a sense of control of the road.
It also offers major innovations such as suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, Advanced Comfort seats and removable rear seats. The C5 Aircross is expected to go on sale from Q2 2019.
5. Hyundai Kona Electric
Hyundai has set a new milestone in the electric car segment with its new Kona Electric. The brand's newest fully-electric subcompact SUV enters the market with an outstanding range, appealing design and advanced safety features.
Featuring two different powertrain versions, the Kona Electric offers customers one of the most powerful electric motors.
The long-range battery version provides driving range of up to 482km, delivering a maximum output of 201bhp. With 395Nm of immediate torque and an acceleration of 7.6 seconds from 0-100km/h, the Kona Electric provides a fun-to-drive experience. The standard battery version has a driving range of 312km, 134bhp and 395Nm of torque. Prices for the Kona Electric begin at $131,999.
6. Jaguar I-PACE
Introducing the electric vehicle that drivers have been waiting for - Jaguar's first all-electric performance SUV. Boasting sustainable sports car performance, state-of-the-art technology and five-seater practicality, the I-PACE is both thrilling to look at and drive.
With zero tailpipe emissions and an electrifying, instantaneous torque of 696Nm, the I-PACE delivers outstanding performance, achieving a peak power output of 394bhp and a century sprint timing of just 4.8 seconds.
Equipped with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery, a full charge provides a range of up to 470km - more than enough to cover the average Singaporean commuter for a week. Inside, the layout optimises space for passengers while sophisticated materials identify it as a true Jaguar. At launch, the I-PACE is priced at $346,999.
7. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
The new Range Rover Evoque makes its first appearance in Asia after London's global unveiling last November at the Singapore Motor Show 2019.
Combining unrivalled Range Rover heritage with cutting-edge technology - designed, engineered and manufactured in Britain - it meets the needs of today's customers.
The Evoque sets new standards of refinement, capability and sustainability in the compact SUV segment, created from a new vehicle architecture. Featuring modernist design, its precise exterior design will turn heads, while the luxurious crafted interior offers a calming sense of well-being.
A sophisticated evolution of the original, the new Evoque will go on sale here in Singapore from Q3 2019.
8. Lexus UX
When it comes to new experiences, let the new Lexus UX take you there. The first ever Lexus compact crossover SUV broadens your horizons with the widest field-of-view in its class.
Internally, the UX will slot nicely below the popular NX in terms of size and price. Measuring 4,495mm with a wheelbase of 2,640mm, the UX may be small but don't underestimate it. Its agile handling, intuitive technologies and a refined, luxurious interior let you take on the city with razor sharp precision and absolute class.
Unfortunately, the F Sport option, which comes with aggressive-looking spindle grille, bigger wheels and air intakes as well as optional adaptive dampers, will not be available for the Singapore market. Prices for the UX begin at $149,800.
9. Peugeot 508 Fastback
The new Peugeot 508 Fastback will make your heart race even before the engine roars. Get ready for your first exclusive, up close and personal look at the 2019 'European Car of the Year' finalist at this year's Singapore Motor Show.
Its striking new look takes inspiration from a sports coupe, with sharp side window design, elegant frameless doors and alloy wheels designed to fill the wheel arch housings.
Inside, it contains the three main characteristics of the Peugeot i-Cockpit, including the compact, full-grain leather-trimmed steering wheel, a large 10-inch capacitive touchscreen angled towards the driver and a 12.3-inch head-up digital instrument panel. The new 508 is expected to go on sale in Singapore from Q4 2019.
10. Suzuki S-Cross
Offering all-terrain driving pleasure, next generation performance and a new dynamic front, the new Suzuki S-Cross is all about greater prospects on four wheels.
