The following article will revolve around European cars. If you're looking for Japanese cars, click this link for a list of popular Japanese Parallel Imported cars of 2019!
When we talk about European cars, the common adjectives usually thrown around would be words like 'luxurious, comfort, high quality, elegant, classy' and let's not forget the most important one, 'expensive'! The last thing you want is to have a high ticket liability in your life and to regret it a few years later when you want to sell, and no one wants to buy. Worry not buddy, we've got your back.
Listed below are 5 of the more popular European parallel imported models that may be costly but not too ridiculously priced and pack the most value for you, the buyer. It all depends on what you're looking for.
1. Mercedes-Benz A-Class
If you want to own a car from one of the most reputable and luxurious German brands, the A-Class is your answer. Targeted at younger working executives (like most of you reading this), you get tons of technology packed in this car for a steal of a price - Twin 10.25-inch displays where you can customise tons of settings to suit your driving preferences, a touchpad controller and USB-C ports! Even though it's an entry-level car, the A-Class is one of the best selling Mercedes models to date.
Estimated price: ~ $135,000

2. Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class
If there's one take away with the GLA-Class, it would have to be comfort. For a relatively small-ish SUV, your rear passengers will be able to sit comfortably at the back (unless the driver is a tall fellow then I pity the guy sitting behind the said driver). Mercedes even takes it up a notch and provides both the driver and the front passenger with an electric seat memory function - I'm sure the spouse will be happy with that function if you need to do some minor convincing to buy a new car.
Estimated price: ~ $145,000

3. BMW 2 Series Active Tourer
BMW's very first front-wheel driven car comes with tons of safety features like lane tracking, auto parallel parking, collision warning, speed checking and limiter functions. Being a front wheel drive, you're ensured better traction on the road when it rains without fear of skidding or losing control. The ultimate kicker? It's running on a diesel engine and can easily run 1000km with just $70 of fuel! What a bargain!
Estimated price: ~ $135,000

4. BMW 5 Series
The BMW 5 Series is one for the geeky executives who love their technology. It's overflowing with numerous over-the-top gadgets such as a futuristic head-up display, touch-screen climate control system, motion detectors to increase or decrease audio volume without touching a single button and to top it all off, there's even an inbuilt massage function! It's a little more pricey than the cars mentioned above but since when was fancy technology cheap?
Estimated price: ~ $205,000

5. Audi Q5
The Audi Q5 is an SUV that gives you one of the most pleasurable driving experiences ever. You'll actually look forward to driving the car when you're in the office, for example. Why? The designers of the Q5 have revolved around the concept of practicality - the shape of the shift lever (the flat top allows you to rest your wrist while you adjust the touchpad) and stretched down doors (so you don't dirty your legs when you step out of the car) are just some of the examples. It's a little ironic that the most expensive car on the list is all about practicality, but hey, if you can afford it, you won't regret it.
Estimated price: ~ $250,000
