#001 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo to head to auction in U.S.A

Longo Toyota, described as the world's largest Toyota dealership, is auctioning off the #001 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo.

The auction will take place virtually and is set to start from 18 October 2023. The winning bidder will be announced on 24 October 2023. Proceeds from the winning bid will go to schools in El Monte, California, as well as the Vision To Learn charity.

The rear seats of the GR Corolla have been removed in this Morizo edition to save a total of 30kg of weight

Digital auction platform Bring a Trailer will list the vehicle for auction, and the platform also states that it will donate the buyer fee to the participating charities following the auction. The GR Corolla will also be delivered cost-free to the winning bidder anywhere in the continental U.S.A by RunBuggy, a car transportation technology platform.

The El Monte City School District and El Monte Union High School District serve approximately 15,000 students, and the funds allocated from the auction will be used to create Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math labs and makerspaces at each of the district’s schools. A portion of the funds will also go towards supporting a transportation career technical education program that gives students hands-on automotive industry experience. 

The Vision To Learn non-profit organisation, meanwhile, offers vision screenings, eye exams and glasses at no charge to students from low-income communities throughout the U.S.A.
