A reversing Mercedes driver causes an accident in Yishun leaving five injured

CCTV footage shot from outside one of the shops showed the Mercedes with the drivers door ajar and travelling briskly in reverse, hitting several stacked goods at shops around the common area.
3 people namely a newspaper shop owner, a passer-by, and a woman believed to be a childcare centre teacher were hit. Eyewitnesses revealed the teacher was flung a short distance. Two elderly people were also injured after a fall as a result of the incident.
The five victims were sent to the nearby Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where a spokesperson revealed two of the injured were warded with the rest discharged. According to Chinese evening papers, the driver is in his mid to late sixties and suffered a stroke recently, walks with a slight limp, and his limbs are not very nimble.
