Need to go fast but think this 500e is a tad too small? Abarth now has something else for you to consider.
This is the Abarth 600e and it comes with a total of 278bhp, a figure which Abarth states, places it as the most powerful car from the brand yet. Backed by a further 345Nm of torque, the century sprint time for this little electric crossover is pegged at 5.8 seconds.
You'll need to opt for the Scorpionissima edition of the car to get this performance, however. And don't expect them to be readily available: Abarth states that it plans to make only 1,949 examples of the special edition car. Mere mortals will have to settle for a more sensible 235bhp (the equivalent sprint time here stands at 6.2 seconds).
Putting all this power to the road, are of course, a suite of handling goodies including Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, said to offer an excellent level of grip, both in the dry and wet. The car's brakes, meanwhile, come courtesy of Alcon. These monobloc four-piston calliper items are said to offer excellent heat dissipation.
A JTEKT Torsen mechanical limited slip differential further rests between the car’s front wheels, offering improved handling and traction in turns. All these, of course, match a suspension that has been stiffened, alongside a reinforced chassis, alongside a high-capacity coolant pump to keep that battery cool.
Inside, the Abarth 600e has been graced with a host of black A, B, and C pillar covers alongside a black headliner, contrasted against coloured stitching. A leather and Alcantara steering wheel also features here, complete with the Scorpion logo, to highlight the sporty nature of the electric crossover.
