Alfa Romeo TZ3 Zagato to go into limited production

The Zagato TZ3 was first previewed as the TZ3 Corsa a year ago at the Villa D'Este as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo's involvement in motorsports, and Alfa Romeo is reportedly going to put the car into limited production as the TZ3 Stradale.

Unlike the TZ3 Corsa however, which was based on the Alfa Romeo 8C supercar, the TZ3 Stradale will be based on the Dodge Viper. This would mean an increase in dimensions overall for the car, as well as being about 600kg heavier than the TZ3 Corsa concept, which weighed a mere 850kg.

The TZ3 Stradale might also use the Viper's 8.4 litre V10 engine that produces 604bhp, instead of the 4.2 litre V8 that was seen in the TZ3 Corsa concept. The car will be rear-wheel-drive, and be a strict two-seater only. Alfa Romeo will release more details about the limited edition car at Pebble Beach in August, with production set to begin in 2012.
