Kia Corporation has revealed the all new Niro at the 2021 Seoul Mobility Show.
Completely redesigned from the ground up, the new Niro has been developed under the company's 'Opposites United' design philosophy, taking additional inspiration from nature for its use of colours, materials, and finishes. The 2019 Kia HabaNiro concept also inspired this new Niro.
At the front, the Kia Niro has had its Kia signature 'tiger face' transformed so it now stretches from the hood right through to the rugged fender below.
Striking 'heartbeat' LED daytime running lights give the Niro a confident and a striking look on the road.
At the rear, the Kia Niro gets a unique vertical taillight design. Here, the car is defined by simple surface treatments with dynamic sections to emphasise its modernity and provide another point of attraction for consumers.
In the cabin, the new Kia Niro gets its headliner made from recycled wallpaper, while the seats are made from Bio polyurethane Tencel made from eucalyptus leaves.
An off-centre dash here utilises both horizontal and diagonal lines, said to deliver a calming yet irregular aesthetic, and incorporates the central infotainment screen and air vents.
Ambient mood lighting here will also serve to heighten the senses and create a welcoming interior.
The headrests' back cover incorporates a convenient coat hanger, while the slim dimensions of the headrest helps to increase the feeling of space.
No powertrain details have been offered as yet, however Kia does state that the new Niro will be available as either a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle.
