Aston Martin reveals the refined 2013 DB9 that replaces the Virage

It is without a doubt Aston Martin creates some exceptional automotive pieces. From James Bond's iconic DB5 till the recently unveiled Vanquish flagship, the moniker offers unmistakable styling and the best of British craftsmanship.
The 2013 DB9 and its Volante (convertible) counterpart might not look radically different but it's the small details that creates the large differences. The new DB9 sits low and wide, providing an athletic stance. The face is clearly inspired by the Virage, the model it replaces. The main changes to the rear (that we can find) are the apron with integrated exhausts and a more distinctive 'boot lip' spoiler that enhances the aerodynamic performance of the car.
A lower larger front grille, inspired by the exclusive one-77 supercar,
feeds air to the factory fitted Brembo carbon ceramic brakes while the front splitter visually widens the car. As an option, the DB9 can be fitted with a carbon fibre front splitter, available as part of the exterior Carbon Pack.
The DB9 will be powered by a new generation AM11 V12 engine partially derived from the V12 that powers the Vanquish. The Am11 V12 delivers 510bhp and a torque figure of 620Nm, a significant improvement over the previous model. Acceleration to a 100km/h can be achieved in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 295km/h. All that power gets transferred to the wheels through a 'Touchtronic 2' six-speed transmission.
The cabin is lush and avant-garde with Aston Martin taking inspiration from luxury leather goods. Like the rest of the car, the interior, provides elegance and luxury through the highest level of craftsmanship and detailing.
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez commented, "Aside from the undeniably beautiful exterior styling and now even more luxurious interior, there are many important and impressive engineering changes that demonstrate Aston Martin's renowned ability to create compelling cars in the modern era."
