Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback get performance variants

Audi is further expanding its RS range, with the RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback gaining performance models to join their existing and already formidable counterparts.
Power is ramped up to a colossal 605bhp, and torque up to 750Nm, courtesy of the upgraded 4.0-litre TFSI engine, with a specific engine management system that increases rpm and boost pressure. The 45bhp and 50Nm output increases translate to a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.7 seconds. Despite the increase in power output, the new RS performance models retain the same best-in-class fuel economy and efficiency figures as their standard equivalents.
Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive system flexibly distributes torque as needed, delivering power to the wheels. The eight-speed Tiptronic transmission has also been designed to maximise the potential from the more extreme engines in the new performance models.
Striking design details reinforce the pre-eminent position of the two new RS performance models. These include accentuated bumpers up front and the heavily profiled diffuser insert at the rear, the gloss black honeycomb grille typical of the RS models and the flared side sills. Inside, RS super sports seats with pronounced side bolsters and integrated head restraints are standard, and are upholstered in a black and blue Alcantara and leather combination. The knee pads are also finished in Alcantara and the inlays in carbon with blue thread.
The first deliveries of the new RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback performance variants are scheduled for February 2016.
