Ever wanted a Michelin Star-taster of the fine culinary offerings at Dempsey Hill's Burnt Ends Restaurant, but either found it difficult to lock a reservation down, or simply make the trip all the way in?
Audi Singapore's latest partnership with Burnt Ends Group is sure to delight you - when the two parties jointly open the first ever Audi X Burnt Ends Bakery in Singapore. The all-day bakery will serve as the in-house cafe for Audi Singapore's new home (and its first permanent "dedicated lifestyle destination") when it eventually opens its doors. It will also mark Burnt Ends Group's landmark second physical space on the island.
The collaboration was proudly revealed at a private dining session at Burnt Ends Restaurant on Wednesday afternoon (23 October 2024), where Audi Singapore also confirmed that its House of Progress Singapore will set up shop along the fringes of both the Central Business District and Chinatown, at Cross Street Exchange.
The space is expected to open its doors early next year - a slight revision to the initial end-2024 timeline that was projected in an earlier announcement.
Audi Singapore and Burnt Ends state that their partnership is rooted in a "shared belief in innovation, quality creations and a commitment to craft" - and true enough, the culinary creations that have been teased so far for Audi X Burnt Ends Bakery promise to bring these ambitions to life.
Slated for its menu thus far are what have been dubbed "timeless favourites" and "reinvented classics", which will see Burnt Ends Bakery inject its own high-quality flair into traditional German fare as a homage to Audi's roots.
These include Bavarian beer-battered waffles, pretzels, and a "reimagination of the iconic currywurst". A special treat awaits for our caffeine-heads too: Burnt Ends has laid out a "robust coffee programme" for the bakery, which will include the firm's signature Slayer's Blend, and an interactive coffee brew bar.
It's not just in the food, though, where the collaborative spirit of Audi X Burnt Ends Bakery will be found.
Those lucky enough to have already visited Burnt Ends Restaurant should be familiar with the brooding wood-based aesthetic of its space at 7 Dempsey Road - and will also find these in the cafe in Audi House of Progress Singapore. As expected, however, it will incorporate a uniquely Audi-flavoured twist with motifs inspired by the brand, chief of which are its logo's signature rings.
Commenting on the partnership, Markus Schuster, Managing Director of Audi Singapore, expressed his excitement at bringing the new experience to Audi customers, saying, "Ultimately, the Audi House of Progress Singapore and Audi X Burnt Ends Bakery aim to bring the Audi experience to customers, through showcasing Audi's culture and innovation, and elevate Audi beyond just a car brand."
Commending the Audi brand for its spirit of innovation and attention to detail, Dave Pynt, Chef-Owner at Burnt Ends Hospitality Group, called the House of Progress "the ideal setting" for the Group's second space in Singapore.
"Adding Burnt Ends Bakery to the space brings fresh energy, redefines and transforms the way people experience a car showroom, highlighting both Audi's forward-thinking approach and our commitment to creating something memorable", he added.
In the meantime, Audi Singapore states that it is also exploring future partnership opportunities with Burnt Ends' parent company, Unlisted Collection, which could span the likes of special events and other special brand initiatives.
Here's a final note that Audi owners won't want to miss: When Audi House of Progress Singapore opens its doors in 2025 (and in tandem, Audi X Burnt Ends Bakery too), you'll simply need to present your Audi car keys to get exclusive discounts at the bakery. Yum.
