In line with the rest of the Q3 range, the performance flagship RSQ3 has also received the facelift treatment with a more striking design and commanding road presence. The 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine now produces 335bhp and 450Nm of torque - an increase of 25bhp and 30Nm respectively - on top of satisfying the stringent Euro6 standards.

The performance SUV has an electronically governed top speed of 250km/h. An RS exhaust system with a switchable flap adds even more volume to the unmistakable sound of the five-cylinder engine.
The standard seven-speed S tronic transmission, which transfers the power to the quattro drivetrain via a new, fifth generation, hydraulic multi-plate clutch, has also been refined for even faster gear changes.
The lower gears are closely spaced for a stronger acceleration, while the seventh gear is tall to optimise economy.
Numerous design details illustrate the special status of the first ever Audi SUV to wear the RS badge, including large wheels and a high-gloss black honeycomb front grille and RS bumpers. A roof spoiler, roof rails in matt aluminium, special door sill plates and door trim strips add emphasis to the striking RS design experience.

The lump propels the RSQ3 to the century mark from nought in 4.8 seconds, 0.7 seconds quicker than its predecessor and - on paper - is 0.2 seconds quicker than its distant cousin, the Volkswagen Golf R.
