Bentley has marked its continued support for the LGBTQ+ community with a uniquely-wrapped Continental at the Manchester Pride Parade. The colourful Continental GTC was designed by Rich Morris and was escorted through the festival alongside 75 of Bentley's colleagues and friends.
The firm's third entry in the parade follows its involvement at both the Crewe Pride and Nantwich Pride events, and its colleagues at the Pyms Lane factory also continue to be active in other community outreach projects, supporting the luxury marque's culture of ensuring all employees feel comfortable bringing their true, authentic selves to the workplace.
The special Bentley Continental GTC not only features the colours of the Progress flag, but also sports specially curated embroidery on its headrests, each made of a total of 6,184 stitches
Rich Morris' bold design for the Continental GTC featured the colours of the Progress flag, created to celebrate diversity and inclusion for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. The focus of the parade car was 'finding your community' - an important factor for those who have grown up feeling different and suffering from prejudice.
The car also sports especially curated headrests, designed and manufactured by the in-house Design and Manufacturing teams. These showcase the pride in manufacturing whilst embodying the Manchester Pride theme 'Buzzin' to be Queer - A Hive of Progress', alongside Bentley's own colony of over one million bees onsite.
They have been made of a total of 6,184 stitches each, so a total of 24,736 stitches have been utilised on the car's front and rear headrests. Each headrest is said to take 15 minutes to embroider the BeProud logo, using the Bentley expanded font, alongside the Manchester Bee. The embroidery features nine unique Bentley coloured threads: Vivid Magenta, Azure Purple, Key Lime Green, Beluga, Reflex Blue, Cyber Yellow, White, Mandarin and Kingfisher Blue. The production of these headrests allowed the Bentley colleagues to showcase their support and pride for the BeProud network.
