BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe arrives in Singapore

It's hard to imagine the mood is anything outside of joyful over at BMW Singapore: BMW Asia has just announced that the organisation saw a 13% increase in sales for the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, and here in Singapore, the same period also saw sales growing by 12%.
And the sales forecast must still be rosy heading into the rest of 2025 on our shores, especially with the arrival of a new iteration of the popular 2 Series Gran Coupe.
This latest iteration of BMW's compact four-door coupe gets new head lights, a new grille, and features the number '2' embossed into its Hofmeister kink
And this new car is indeed ready to wade into battle for market share. To start, the four-door coupe makes its way back onto our shores with a larger body than before. Measuring a total of 4,546mm long and 1,800mm wide, this new 2 Series Gran Coupe now stretches out 20mm longer than its predecessor. It has grown taller as well, by a total of 25mm to be precise, so total height now reaches 1,445mm.
Not that any of these will compromise that sporty design that those shopping for a four-door coupe will be looking for. Up front, you'll notice that this 2 Series Gran Coupe now sports a new front grille, complete with both vertical and diagonal bars just like the one we have seen on the BMW 116.
There are also new head lights here, complete with vertical elements for the daytime running lights and turn indicators.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe now makes use of the firm's Curved Display, which operates the firm's latest Operating System 9
Further back, the car now proudly wears a '2', embossed onto its Hofmeister kink, while lower down, it also discreetly hides its tailpipes behind its rear bumper.
But it's not all just about new looks, for there's new power under that sculpted bonnet as well.
This new iteration of the 2 Series Gran Coupe now offers up a total of 121bhp from its 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, a jump from the 107bhp output of its predecessor. BMW states that this new iteration will also crack the century sprint in just 9.9 seconds, a fair bit faster than the 10.8 seconds that the previous car required.
A 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine offers up a total output of 121bhp alongside peak torque of 230Nm in the BMW 216 Gran Coupe
Also improved with this new 2 Series Gran Coupe is the geometry of the front wheels, the car's shock absorbers, and general chassis rigidity. The net effect of which, BMW claims, is an improvement in the car's agility, steering precision, and cornering dynamics.
There are improvements in the cabin as well. New here is BMW's Curved Display, which combines a 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster and a 10.7-inch Information Display, and runs the firm's latest BMW Operating System 9.
These will pair with BMW's Sport Seats upholstered in the firm's Veganza leather, as well as a sports steering wheel. The latter is added as part of the standard M Sport package, which also graces the car with features including frequency-selective shock absorbers and an 8mm decrease in overall ride height.

There's also good reason to expect more to come to the BMW brand in the near future. The firm marked the start of the 2025 Golf season at this launch event after having seen the conclusion of the 2024 BMW Golf Cup World Final. Held in Bangkok, Thailand, the final brought together BMW customers from nearly 40 markets around the world, including 14 players from BMW Asia's markets participating.
Mr Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia, informs that 2025 is set to be just as exciting for fans of the brand as it continues its steady flow of customer engagement activities: Performance Motors Limited customers can expect to participate in exclusive omakase experiences with top chefs from the country, while Eurokars Auto customers can look forward to being a part of exciting arts and culture events.
