BMW inks partnership for China-specific ADAS solutions

Proof once again that all eyes are on China in the automotive world, BMW has announced a new technical partnership that will see it co-develop advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) solutions specifically for BMWs sold in China. 

The brand believes that the collaboration will help it expand its footprint in "China's digital innovation landscape" as it works together with Momenta, a leading Chinese ADAS technology provider, to bring said solutions to its cars. 

BMW has revealed that the first models to benefit from this cooperation will be its Neue Klasse ones, which begin with the all-new iX3 that will be revealed at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.

Additionally, the brand has emphasised that the partnership will build on its own 'BMW driving philosophy' for the maximum benefit of the driver in all situations.

Alongside Momenta, the German luxury marque will focus on software development and integration specific to Chinese road-networks, traffic-conditions and user expectations. In the process, both parties are hoping to tap on advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and data-driven development methods for the new technologies.
