BMW marks 50 years of the 3 series with special edition car

BMW is marking the 50^th anniversary of the 3 Series with a limited edition M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition.

The special edition car comes in a series of BMW Individual paint finishes, each marking a previous generation of the 3 Series that came before it. These colours include Ruby Red Metallic, Boston Green Metallic, Avus Blue Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic and Sparkling Graphite Metallic. Each exterior colour is matched with a corresponding interior colour scheme and matched with either red or blue brake callipers.

Each BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition comes with 19-inch dual-spoke black rims and complimentary shade of Extended Merino leather upholstery

The BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition also comes as standard with the Shadowline Package, which adds M Shadowline Adaptive Full LED lights and Shadowline trim on the kidney grille and lower air intake, while at the back, an M Performance carbon fibre spoiler and a special '50 Jahre Edition' badge features on the trunk lid.

The special edition car also gets a dual-branch M Performance exhaust system with Shadowline tailpipe finishers and 19-inch dual-spoke black rims as standard.

Inside, the BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition features carbon fibre trim and a Harman Kardon surround sound system, while the front door entry sills and a metal plaque on the cupholder cover are inscribed with the text '3 Series 50 Jahre Edition'.

Each car comes with a 380bhp 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed transmission and BMW's xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive, allowing it to sprint to 96km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

BMW states that production of this special edition model has begun and deliveries are expected to commence in the U.S.A by the first quarter of 2026.
