Bridgestone Asia Pacific announces new President

Mr. Sato will relocate from Tokyo-based parent company, Bridgestone Corporation (BSJ), where he currently serves as Vice President and Officer responsible for global Tire Products Strategy. Mr. Sato will also hold a concurrent position as Managing Director of Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd. (TBSC) effective the same date succeeding Nobuyuki Tamura. TBSC, with its head office in Bangkok, Thailand, is the largest subsidiary of Bridgestone in the region.
Mr. Hara, who has served as President of BSAP for four years in total, will return to Tokyo to assume a new assignment at the parent company reporting to Vice President and Officer, Group Global Marketing Strategy. Mr. Tamura, who has served as Managing Director of TBSC since October 2010, will return to Tokyo as Director of OE Sales Administration Division of the parent company.
In commenting on the new assignments, Asahiko Nishiyama, Vice President and Senior Officer of BSJ, stated, “I would like to thank Mr. Hara for his leadership since the creation of BSAP in 2006. Mr. Tamura has led TBSC during the challenging time in Thailand and his contribution is highly appreciated. I would like to wish both gentlemen much success in their new global assignments in Tokyo. Mr. Sato will bring a wealth of experience and caliber, which is a great asset for BSAP region as well as for TBSC. His dynamic leadership will drive the team within the region to be even more strategic, competitive, united and strong.”
BSAP, based in Singapore, is Bridgestone’s regional headquarters for the Asia & Pacific region and it is one of the eight Strategic Business Units of Bridgestone’s global operation.
