16 Dec 2024|86 views
Bridgestone has won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for its Bridgestone Road Safety Programme (BRSP), a long-term, integrated strategy aligning road safety interventions with the best practices for helping vulnerable road-users.
The award was established in 1987 and recognises innovation and achievement in enhancing road safety globally. As a tyre manufacturer, Bridgestone regards road safety as an important priority, and the BRSP was developed to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3.6.
The BRSP was revamped in 2019 to focus on four core areas: Safer mobility, safer communities, safer roads, and employee engagement. Globally, BRSP has helped enhance road infrastructure in Thailand, equip drivers in India with essential skills, educate youths in Italy on road safety and sustainability, and improved road safety practices in Japan and Latin America.
Guided by the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, specifically "Ease" and "Empowerment", the brand aims to expand its road safety initiatives and continue to deliver both social and customer value on its path to becoming a sustainable solutions company.
