BYD by JC brings the M6, Sealion 7 and Seal 6 to the North

Interest in electric vehicles has continued to gain steady ground in Singapore through 2025. And despite its enticing pricing, the M6's equipment list is anything but entry-level. It has ventilated front seats, and comes with a full suite of safety assistance features including blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

Drivers on the hunt for something with more presence, however, will be well served by the bestselling BYD Sealion 7.

Interestingly, you'll note that the particular unit that Jack Cars has brought to Northpoint City is the range-topping Performance variant. Apart from larger 20-inch wheels, the BYD Sealion 7 Performance is marked out by exclusive '4.5s' badging on its tailgate, indicating the time it takes to hit 100km/h from a standstill.

That should give you an idea of the amount of power it has on tap - 390kW and a whopping 690Nm of instant torque from two electric motors - which are incredible figures for a mid-sized SUV.

Of course, the Sealion 7's allure lies more in its sumptuous cabin and generous spread of standard features - available even on the Cat A Dynamic variant.

The final member of the trio promises to appeal to more traditional Singaporean drivers who still appreciate the three-box shape of a sedan.

Despite its Cat A positioning and modest power output (95kW and 220Nm of torque), the Seal 6 EV is rear-wheel driven, which promises a slight edge in agility over other compact front-wheel drive sedans on the market.

It also has all the hallmarks of a great sedan: Its boot stands at a well-sized 460 litres, while its 2,820mm wheelbase gives rear passengers plenty of legroom. Even better is the fact that it boasts a completely flat rear floor thanks to its electric drivetrain.

And just like the M6, the Seal 6 EV's pleasant cabin and generous equipment list belie its entry-level positioning.
