BYD Dolphin now offered in the U.K. as an electric van

BYD is now offering the Dolphin as a light commercial vehicle in the U.K.

The all-electric hatchback has been converted into a commercial vehicle via the removal of its rear seats and the installation of a full metal bulkhead. BYD states that the car offers a maximum load capacity 1,093 litres (including a 47-litre underfloor storage space).

The Dolphin Cargo e-Van sports a maximum load length is 1,250mm, while the minimum load width (between the wheel arches) is 1,018mm, with a maximum width of 1,160mm. This load area is phenolic ply-trimmed, while the van also features hardwearing door cards and a bumper protection film to offer robustness for all types of businesses. The van can also be specified with number of rear window options including polycarbonate panels.

This Dolphin Cargo e-Van makes use of a 150kW electric motor animated by a 60.4kWh battery, which allows it to post a WLTP range of 426km. BYD is offering the vehicle with a 70mph speed limiter in the U.K.
