12 Nov 2009|2,782 views
The Converj concept was first shown at the Detroit Motor Show last year, and was recently showcased again at the Miami Auto Show, where it won the Concept Vehicle of the Show award. Now, GM has announced that it will put the Converj into production, although there is no news as to when it will be released.
The Converj is a luxury four-seater coupe that is also an electric vehicle, and will be based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Volt. The Converj is said to use a T-shaped battery located in the centre that contains 220 lithium-ion batteries that can offer a range of 64km.
Once the battery power has been used up, the Converj has a petrol-driven engine that helps to recharge the battery. Like the Volt, the Converj can be fully charged in eight hours by plugging it in a standard 120V household socket, or three hours if a 240V socket is used.
