In the first COE bidding exercise for February, Cat A COE premiums see a slight increase while Cat B and Cat E fall slightly.
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, increased by $3,110 (8.4 percent) and ended at $40,000.
Premiums for Cat B, larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, went down by $339 (0.8 percent) and ended at $42,322.
In Cat E, the open category, prices also fell by $4,097 (9.3 percent), with premiums closing at $39,903.
A key contributing factor to the increase in Cat A COE premiums is the reduction in the Cat A COE quota for the February-April period. Additionally, with the launch of new cars at the recent Singapore Motor Show, buyers may now be finalising their purchases, thus the increase in the number of COE bids.
