The Orlando is powered by a 2.4-litre Ecotec four-cylinder engine with direct-injection which produces 174bhp. When mated to a six-speed manual, the Orlando claims to return a fuel consumption figure of 6.7 litres per 100km on the highway and 10 litres per 100km in the city. With a six-speed automatic, the figures go up to 6.9 litres per 100km for the highway and 10.6 litres per 100km in the city.
"The new Orlando builds on the transformation of Chevrolet's fuel efficient and versatile product portfolio, offering a family-friendly vehicle in a key segment in the Canadian market," said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of General Motors of Canada. "With its expected segment-leading fuel efficiency and standard 7-passenger seating, Orlando should be a popular choice with Canadian families."
The new Orlando is built in South Korea, and went on sale across Europe earlier this year. Chevrolet had made initial plans to offer the MPV in the U.S., but later reconsidered its decision, and the Orlando will now be available in Canada only, starting from October.
