Cycle & Carriage France has officially launched the Citroen C4 Picasso (left) and Grand C4 Picasso (right) MPVs. Available in two body types, the C4 Picasso is a five-seater MPV targeting smaller families, while the Grand C4 Picasso is the favourite seven-seater MPV. Locally, the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso was the best-selling European MPV in 2010, and has remained a clear favourite among MPV buyers since. The introduction of the new model was long overdue, as the current model was sold out in mid-2013.
Built on the new and more efficient EMP2 platform, the all new Citroen C4 Picasso models have lost up to 140kg in weight, and claims to offer the best in its class fuel economy.
The C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso join the other four models currently in the Citroen turbo-diesel range - including the C4, C5, DS4 and DS5 models.
The entire range of turbo-diesel cars remain in Category A COE and offers key benefits including reduced fuel and maintenance costs, along with improved mileage and frugal fuel consumption of up to 25km/L.
Also at 270Nm, the turbo-diesel cars provide the highest torque, among cars under Category A COE. And Citroen reassures refuelling capability in Malaysia. To top it off, a five-year or 100,000km warranty is also offered for all turbo-diesel models.
On the aesthetics side, the Citroen C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso's strong, expressive designs are visible in the dynamic lines and high-tech headlights with LED 3D rear lights. The wide windscreen and panoramic glass roof creates a loft-style interior with a bright, uncluttered ambience.
Strict quality control measures were implemented when building the new C4 Picassos, to achieve the required level of quality as inspections are carried out more frequently to even more stringent standards. In addition, the car was driven for more than 3.5 million kilometres during the various stages of development, in all driving conditions and climates, by 1,000 test drivers including parents to ensure a properly finished product.
The Grand C4 Picasso has already won a number of international awards, including BBC Top Gear's - 'Family Car of the Year 2013' and WhatCar?'s - 'MPV of the Year' in the U.K., along with the Golden Steering Wheel 2013 for 'Family MPV of the Year' in Germany.
