Citroen has announced that it will be offering another 1,000 examples of the My Ami Buggy in selected markets.
An off-road ready version of the Citroen Ami compact electric commuter, the Citroen My Buggy was initially offered in a limited run of just 50 examples which saw strong demand: Citroen states that the first example was purchased online just two minutes and 53 seconds after the car went on sale online.
This new offering, which Citroen is calling the My Ami Buggy II, will continue to sport the Khaki tinted exterior colour and the black protective elements, including the reinforced bumpers, skid plates, headlamp bezels, wheel arches, rocker panels and rear spoiler, of its predecessor.
Also continued here is the use of yellow highlights such as the embossing on the front panel and directional arrows on the wheel arches. This yellow is also used for the various practical touches in the cabin, including the storage bins, opening straps and bag hooks, and the stitching on the seats and carpets.
This new Citroen My Ami Buggy II, however, does get new touches designed to better protect its occupants. The tubing that is utilised in place of conventional doors, is now paired with new plastic covers, so occupants of the My Ami Buggy II can expect better protection against the wind, cold, or rain.
These can simply be rolled and affixed to the door pillars when not in use, or removed and stored away when not wanted.
The black waterproof canopy of the buggy has also been upgraded so it now has a zipper, making it easier to use. Citroen states that the roof has also been redesigned so it better insulates users against the wind when the Citroen My Ami Buggy II is on the move. The canopy can be rolled up and secured with snap buttons.
The buggy also gets a redesigned instrument cluster, now with a new arched cap for a more retro look. The Citroen My Ami Buggy II will additionally come with a new 'Ultimate Ears Boom' lightweight Bluetooth speaker complete with a 15-hour battery life. This speaker is not only waterproof, but will additionally fit into a special compartment on the dashboard of the buggy, located next to the steering wheel.
