There's good news ahead: The LTA has announced that the COE supply for the upcoming quarter from May to July 2024 is set to increase compared to the previous quarter. And this upcoming quarter's increase in supply is set to rival the increase we saw three months ago: The total available COE across all categories is set to increase from 14,707 to 15,104.
COE supply for Cat E is set to increase by a sizeable 12.9% in the upcoming quarter compared to this outgoing one
For context, the total COEs available increased from 14,388 to 14,707 when we transitioned from the quarter that ended in January 2024 into the quarter starting in February 2024.
The LTA states that a total of 266 Cat E Temporary COEs that expired between January 2024 to March 2024 will be available for bidding in May 2024 to July 2024. These COEs will be redistributed into categories A, B and C in proportion to their respective contributions to Cat E. The total supply for Cat D, used to register motorcycles, will remain unchanged in the coming quarter compared to the last, at 3,105.
A breakdown of available COE supply across all categories for the upcoming quarter is reproduced in the table below:
