Cupra has announced that it has appointed Sven Schuwirth as its new Chief Operating Officer. Schuwirth will report directly to CEO of Cupra, Wayne Griffiths and succeeds Antonino Labate, who has left the company upon his own request.
Schuwirth joined Seat in June 2021 as Head of Digital Business, Corporate and Product Strategy, and the past 20 months has seen him developing Cupra's product strategy as well as its expansion into new markets including Australia.
Schuwirth has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry in areas including sales, marketing and digital strategy. He joined Audi AG in 1999, and was appointed the brand's Head of Brand Development and Corporate Identity, where he was responsible for the development of product, portfolio and communication strategy until 2008.
Schuwirth then took on the role of Head of Brand Development and Digitalisation before returning to Audi AG in 2019 after a year at BMW AG to take charge of the newly established 'Brand Audi, Digital Business and Customer Experience' division.
