Porsche Singapore has a little gift for all fans of the marque as we mark our nation's 59th birthday.
The firm is releasing the 24th edition of Curves - Soulful Driving, an enthusiast magazine for people who are passionate about the journey, whether it be driving cars, riding motorbikes, or cycling in search of adventure on the road.
Founded and creatively directed by Stefan Bogner, the magazine typically captures spectacular photographs of mountain passes and curves (see, for example, these photos captured by Bogner of a special 911 GT3 RS), allowing readers to mentally journey through these beautiful landscapes before their next road-trip experience.
Bogner's recent trip to Singapore, however, resulted in a departure from this norm. The depth, diversity and vibrance of the garden city encouraged a different take on the usual formula, and the result is Curves Singapore, the first-of-its-kind insider city guide in the series. The 224-page limited edition insider city guide takes readers on a curated and deliberate journey through the Lion City, beginning with vibrant cityscape scenes ranging from the city's bustling port and Central Business District to heritage areas such as Joo Chiat, Kampong Glam and Chinatown.
The magazine also features voices from a smogasboard of local characters; these commentaries begin with an insight to Singapore’s rapid rise to global fame by futurist Parag Khanna, and continue interspliced throughout the edition with the entrepreneurial journeys of Lorin Winata from Melati, Aeron Khoo, Chef-owner of Kappou. Each feature tells a story of resilience and strength to follow one's dreams - a spirit not unlike that of the Lion City itself, a city where passion is made possible.
To round up the Edition, Bogner casts a spotlight on Singapore's unique and passionate Porsche community, featuring characters who have doubled down on the country's high costs of vehicle ownership. One of these is Dr. Tan, the original owner of a 600,000-kilometre strong 911 Carrera RS Touring finished in Ruby Star. His story, along with many others, are showcased vibrantly through Bogner's lens.
To introduce this new edition of the magazine, a glimpse of Stefan Bogner's perspective on urban exploration and the inspiration behind his work is captured via the film Singapore: Through the Lens by Roslee Yusof, which has been embedded at the end of this article.
The limited edition Curves Singapore magazine is now available for purchase via Porsche Singapore's online store here and at Porsche Studio Singapore at $35.
