BMW Group Asia has announced a donation of approximately $14,500 (€10,000) to Life Community Services Society (LCSS).
As part of the Karl-Monz-Foundation - founded in 1997 by Karl Monz, a former member of the board of directors of BMW AG - the donation benefits over 250 students in terms of academic support, meals, case management, activities, and workshops.
"We are confident that the Karl-Monz Foundation donation will further support our efforts and have a positive impact on the lives of the children as they strive towards fulfilling their dreams and aspirations," said Lam Moi Kwai, CEO of LCSS. BMW Group Asia has been in collaboration with LCSS since 2022, as part of its larger BMW Group Asia Learning Space initiative which aims to promote digital equity and the education of sustainability amongst youths.
Speaking on the news, Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia, said, "The work LCSS does in Singapore is an inspiration to us all and we believe these funds will greatly help them to empower the leaders of tomorrow."
Examples of programs that have emerged from the partnership between BMW Group Asia and LCSS include education of sustainability in various industries, to workshops on various aspects of sustainability. BMW Group Asia has also announced that it plans to partner with other local organisations under the Learning Space initiative for the rest of 2024.
