European sales of the Honda Civic Type-R to end

If you're young and hip, then you've no doubt heard of Honda's 198 bhp Civic Type R.

It's an angular coupé, with a high-revving 4-pot, and a big boot, making it the perfect car for 20-something's™with green hair.

Unfortunately, Honda's famous Civic Type R won't meet the new European emissions regulations. This means, they won't be able to sell it there after 2010.

Called Euro-V, the new regulations are enforced across the entire European Union.

The Civic Type R is made at Honda's Swindon England plant and even though Honda will no longer be selling the car in the UK, the plant will continue to produce the car for sale in other markets like the United States, and Japan.
