Celeritas is Latin for ''swiftness'' or ''speed'', and the concept is based on the recently-discontinued two-seater coupe, the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which was replaced last year by the Ferrari 458 Italia. ''It has all the hallmarks of the [Ferrari F430] Scuderia - a low profile, sweeping wheel arches, a visible engine in the rear - but each has been turned up to 11,'' Schurmann says.
The car's most dominant features are its exaggerated wheel arches, which rise from the comparatively flat body like a roller coaster. ''The wheel arches tower over the Celeritas and are nearly as tall as the driving position,'' Schurmann says, and adds, ''The rear sprawls behind the driver and passenger cabin, encompassing two large spoilers that move independently to increase and decrease downforce.''
The Ferrari Celeritas concept is an ultra-low, high-performance roadster conceived by a design student and keen blogger named Aldo Schurmann, who studies at theIstituto d’Arte Applicata e Design in Turin, Italy.
