The 2017 Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific will once again make its return to Singapore in support of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. The Marina Bay Street Circuit - noted to be one of the most physically challenging on the F1 calendar, with 23 corners - will see around 30 drivers representing Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the U.S.A, Canada, Belgium and Sweden.
They will be getting behind the wheel of the new 488 Challenge for an adrenaline-filled race around the 5.065km unique track located near the harbourside. The 488 Challenge is the sixth model to participate in the one-make series, which in 2017, celebrates its 25th anniversary since the series' debut in 1992.
It is the first ever turbocharged model to race and is the most powerful Challenge car ever, powered by the 661bhp 3.9-litre V8 derived from the series production engine that took the overall 2016 International Engine of the Year Award. Thanks to extensive development of the car's engine, aerodynamics and chassis, the 488 Challenge reaches new levels of performance, chopping a second off the Fiorano lap time of the preceding 458 Challenge EVO for a new record of 1:15.5.
