Ferrari has revealed the name for its 2013 racer ahead of official launch

Internally codenamed as the '664', this year's single seat racer will be known as the F138. Ferrari explained the '13' in F138 refers to the year of competition - 2013 - while the '8' refers to the number of cylinders in the engine.

A fitting name then, as 2013 will be the final season where the V8 engines will be used. Come 2014, there will be slight change as Formula One will adopt a turbocharged V6 layout. The F138 will be formally launched in Maranello on Friday, a day after McLaren.

Following McLaren and Ferrari, a slew of car launches from other teams like Force India, Sauber and defending champions Red Bull are expected ahead of the test session in Spain.
