The car was developed under technical director Pat Fry and Chief Designer Nikolas Tombazis, with most of the aerodynamic work completed in Toyota's wind tunnel in Cologne as Ferrari's facility is undergoing upgrade works.
Massa will take the car for a spin first at next week's Jerez test while Alonso will try out the car at the second test in Barcelona. Ferrari Test driver Pedro de la Rosa will also try out the F138 - to collect data and feel the car before he starts working on the simulator this year.
Unlike Lotus, Ferrari has opted to use a vanity panel to conceal the 'platypus nose' on its F138. Technical wise, the pull-rod front suspension layout from last year's F2012 has been retained while the rear end is sharp and neat. It is believed the exhaust system featured during the closing stages of last year's season has been evolved and fitted to the F138.
