Ferrari has announced that it will be opening a new chapter in its historic relationship with tobacco firm Philip Morris International.
Both firms will scout new energy-related technologies that could support the descarbonsation journey of both firm's facilities, which are located just 30km apart in the Emilia Romagna region. To achieve this goal, the Ferrari E-Lab will be assessing key solutions contributing to industrial electrification in the generation, storage, and transformation of renewable energy. Ferrari states that the first of these studies will explore the viability of long-duration energy storage technologies and should be completed by the third quarter of 2023.
Ferrari aims to become carbon neutral by 2030.
