First BMW Neue Klasse test vehicles roll off production line

BMW has announced that it will be ramping up production of the first test vehicles for its near-series fully electric Neue Klasse X models in its Plant Debrecen in Hungary, marking the beginning of the final preparation phase for the start of series production in late 2025.

Integrating new models in a plant starts with the production of near-series vehicles, and as part of this process, test vehicles cycle through all production steps.

During this phase, new staff will also undergo intensive training on the installations and machinery

Materials and vehicle parts are delivered daily to Plant Debrecen, with test vehicles coming off the production line continuously. Every step is closely scrutinised, with special attention paid to validation of production systems and tools, including their digital connectivity.

Running system tests for the future vehicle model also helps to identify further potential for optimisation. In the coming months, the focus will be on refining processes based on gained insights.
