Two-tone sky blue & orange - Pays tribute to the Gulf Oil sponsored GT40's that dominated Ferrari in 1968, and 1969.
Black & Silver - This color scheme honors the 1966 Mk II. Not only was this the first car to beat Ferrari since 1960, but it lead Ford's spectacular triple win that year.
White w/ Blue & Red stripe - This is the livery of the Mk IIB entered in the 1967 24-hours at Le Mans. Even though engine failure caused it to drop from the race in the 13th hour, drivers Jo Schlesser and Guy Ligier piloted the same car to victory at the last-ever 12-hours at Reims. France's other famous endurance race.
Red & White - Pays tribute to Ford's mighty Mk IV, victorious at the 1967 Le Mans race. Not only did AJ Foyt, and Dan Gurney beat Ferrari for a second straight year. But they did so at an average speed of 218 km/h. Unheard of in 1967!
Blue & White - These are the colours of the 1972 Ford Capri RS 2600. A little car that won the Touring Car category, and finished 10th overall.
Each of the 5 cars has dash plaques, and special Reccaro seats, which are trimmed in leather and diamond quilted alcantara. With special stitching to match the car's stripe. The gearshift gait, parking brake handle, and center arm rest are trimmed in leather. And, unique leather seatbelt guides were added to the seats. Under all of the special bodywork is Ford's venomous Focus RS. A little, turbocharged hatch that can achieve a top speed of 263 km/h!
The 5 cars will be displayed at the 2010 Le Mans Classic, then driven a number of laps, at the start of certain grid races, which are reserved for cars of a particular era. Driving the cars will be Ford-invited guests, and VIP's. Once the 5th Le Mans Classic event is over, the 5 cars will be put on sale.
Besides the special trim, and dash plaque, those 5 lucky buyers will also receive a limited edition Le Mans Classic watch (or "time piece", depending on your tax bracket).
