Ford Fiesta ST is Top Gear Magazines Car of The Year 2013

The Ford Fiesta ST's victory came despite competition from technically advanced rivals like the McLaren P1 hybrid supercar. The Fiesta ST also won Top Gear Magazine's Hot Hatch of the Year title and follows last year's victor, the acclaimed Focus ST.

"It grips and goes better than the others and - as far as we can see - there is no catch. The dealers could charge a few grand more, and it would still feel like a good deal. But they don't, and good on them," added TopGear.
The latest awards by the U.K. publication are the latest in a long line of commendations for the Fiesta ST, including Auto Express' Best Hot Hatch and Scottish Car of the Year's Best Hot Hatch.
The long list of accolodes have been matched by sales orders, resulting in a 15 percent increase in production targets to meet demand from buyers in Europe.
Powered by a 177bhp, 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, the Fiesta ST is capable of a 6.9 second sprint to the century mark before climbing to a top speed of 223km/h. The Fiesta ST offers performance tuned steering, suspension, brakes and enhanced Torque Vectoring Control, as well as Ford MyKey, SYNC with Emergency Assistance and Recaro sports seats.
Anthony Ireson, Ford of Britain Marketing Director, commented, "The Fiesta ST seems to impress everybody who gets behind the wheel, and the TopGear magazine judges are no exception. This is a major accolade for the Fiesta ST and for Ford, and we are delighted to see the car recognised as such an enjoyable and value for money proposition."

Top Gear Magazine commented, "The Fiesta ST does all of the things a hot hatch must do. Often this would mean it lacks something the others have. But no, it has 180bhp. It looks cracking. The chassis is as lovingly engineered as a McLaren's."
