Ford has revealed the first details of a new, all-electric E‑Tourneo Courier.
Described by Ford as a five-seat multi-activity vehicle, the new vehicle is designed to offer maximum space paired with an SUV-inspired design while occupying a compact, city-friendly footprint.
This is achieved through the use of short overhangs front and back. The use of straightforward lines for the exterior, meanwhile, gives the vehicle visual width and toughness. A futuristic-looking coast-to-coast light bar and Ford signature chrome diamond grille serve as visual highlights at the front.
Inside, the Ford E‑Tourneo Courier utilises a 'digiboard' instrument panel that features a full digital instrument cluster and the firm's Sync 4 infotainment system, controlled via a 12‑inch touchscreen complete with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration and the ability to receive over-the-air updates.
Aft of this dashboard, occupants in the new E‑Tourneo Courier are said to benefit from improved shoulder and head room as well as a host of stowage options including a configurable centre console. A 60/40 split rear bench, meanwhile, will open to a boot that offers 44% more space than the outgoing Tourneo Courier. And should this still be insufficient, the Ford E‑Tourneo Courier now comes with a 44-litre frunk.
The E‑Tourneo Courier will be powered by a 134bhp electric motor. The battery meanwhile can be charged at up to 11kW via an alternating current source, or at 100kW via a direct current charger, which will see the vehicle climbing from 10% to 80% battery capacity with just 25 minutes of charging.
