Ford reveals the all new Focus ST

The new Focus ST is expected to go on sale only from 2012, but Ford has released pictures of its latest hot hatchback. The Focus ST will be the most powerful version of the Focus range, as Ford has not decided on whether it will produce a replacement for the Focus RS.

The pictures show the Focus ST with a special 'Tangerine Scream' paintjob, as well as aggressive styling details such as an aerodynamic body kit, a massive air intake, and a centrally-mounted dual exhaust system. Inside, the Focus ST features two-tone leather sport seats, contrast stitching, and faux carbon fibre trim.

The Focus ST will be powered by a 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 247bhp. While Ford has not released performance figures, it says that the car will provide "™an intoxicating cocktail of exhilarating performance and handling accompanied by an addictive sound."

Ford also said that the Focus ST is the "first high-performance model developed under its global Performance Vehicles strategy." This provides an indication that the model will be made available in most of Ford's major markets, including Asia and the US.
