The Team Championship features a new points system that rewards teams for their performance, and is a first for the Formula Drift series worldwide, in the USA, Middle East and ASEAN. Formula Drift Singapore 2011 will be the first leg to kick off the championship on the 11 and 12 of June.

Aside from the press conference, there was also a chance for the media to take a ride with the drifters along the drifting course as a pre-event taster, and journalists joined drivers such as Daigo Saito of Team Spark Motorsports, Thailand’s Non Saranon, who finished runner-up in last year’s Formula Drift Singapore, and Ken Gushi from the United States.
VIP Formula Drift Singapore 2011, Presented By Achilles Radial, will be held at the F1 Pit Building on 11 and 12 June, and tickets are on sale now. Grandstand and Walkabout tickets are available at $55 and $20 from SISTIC respectively until June 10, and $65 and $30 at the door on the 11 and 12 June at the door.

44 drivers have been confirmed for this year’s Formula Drift Singapore, coming from neighbouring ASEAN countries as well as international drivers from Japan, Australia and America. This year’s event will also introduce a new judging format that places greater importance in style over speed, making it more exciting than ever.
