Porsche has announced that the all-electric variant of the new fourth generation Cayenne will be built at Volkswagen Slovakia's multi-brand location in Bratislava.
The Cayenne will be the fourth model line with an all-electric powertrain when its all electric variant is revealed, Porsche states, following from the Taycan, Macan, and the 718. The firm has also previously announced that it will be adding another all-electric SUV which sits above the Cayenne, which is set to be revealed in the second half of the decade.
Porsche states that the Cayenne has seen the highest demand across all its model lines, with 95,604 delivered units in its anniversary year of 2022. Since production of the model begun in 2022, painted bodies of the Cayenne have been sent from Bratislava to Leipzig, and production moved entirely to Bratislava in 2017 with the third generation Cayenne. Since then, the site has produced models with both combustion-only and plug-in hybrid drivetrains.
