Volkswagen has unveiled the Golf GTI Black Dynamic at the Worthersee festival in Austria recently, which was created by nine factory apprentices. The annual festival celebrates the GTI and all things Volkswagen.
The one-off (sadly) GTI Black Dynamic makes a lasting impression. Just cosmetic details and upgrades sound something that companies like ABT or MTM can accomplish. The exterior has a deep black exterior with matte anthracite accents, a matte grey hood with honeycomb pattern decals appearing on the lower profile of the car.
The interior receives a two tone black and red interior finished in alcantara and leather, and on the performance end, an upgraded 2.0-litre TSI powertrain with 296bhp output is mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox. Also in the works is a sport suspension that lowers the ride height by 35mm, and lastly 19” alloy-wheels.
You wouldn’t expect nine young Volkswagen apprentices to have produced this custom Golf in only seven months. The team of four women and five men between the ages of 18 and 23 chose the motto "sporty driving" for the customisation. The age group explains why they do not understand the importance of boot space, as it has been replaced with a 1,800 watt sound system with nine loudspeakers.
It is interesting to note that the custom features were all planned and produced by the apprentices. They also selected the appropriate parts from the Volkswagen model range besides negotiating with suppliers before performing their work on the car.The Golf GTI Black Dynamic is on display from 16 to 19 May at the 31st GTI Festival at Worthersee in Austria.
