Hedley and Bugatti combine to create a bespoke Baby II

Hedley Studios has worked closely with Bugatti and its in-house Manager of Sur Mesure and Individualisation, Jascha Straub, to design and create a bespoke, one-of-one Bugatti Baby II.
Made to honour the French marque's 115-year heritage, the three-quarter-scale, driveable, and fully electric interpretation of the Bugatti Type 35 represents a unique tribute to a design etched into automotive history.
For this unique example of the Baby II, Bugatti and Straub curated a mesmerising duo-tone of 'Nocturne' black and 'Giallo Midas' yellow, a celebration of a colour-scheme personally favoured by Ettore Bugatti himself, and one that has adorned legendary Bugatti models such as the Type 57 Grand Raid Usine.
Complimenting its exterior finish, the Baby II's elegant interior features black leather cured by 'Bridge of Weir', honouring not only Ettore Bugatti's use of the elegant black and striking yellow, but also paying homage to the marque's home of Molsheim.
This one-off example of the Baby Bugatti II features subtle references such as incorporating horses into its design - one of Ettore Bugatti’s lesser-known passions - elevating the bespoke model as a collector's item and a pure manifestation of driveable art.
Straub committed himself to creating the final masterwork: an exquisite collection of hand-drawn sketches, ranging from horses and winning racing-cars to the legendary Chateau Saint-Jean. Straub also drew on a rich repository of inspiration from Bugatti's home in Molsheim, etching the pieces with masterful precision on the car. Finished with a fine layer of clear-coat, the works of art are frozen in exquisite clarity on the Bugatti II's body-panels.
Straub adds that he has thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration with the Hedley Studios team, heralding the Bugatti Baby II as a carefully and meticulously crafted piece of engineering that forms a brilliant canvas for a one-of-one piece of art.
