Honda is building a 800bhp CR-V Hybrid Racer

Deep in the desert of California, Honda is working on something that will have fans believing in the power of dreams once again.

It's called the Honda CR-V Hybrid Racer project vehicle - but don't scoff - this isn't your run-of-the-mill family SUV. Information is still scant, although Honda is leading on to the fact that this project vehicle will get electrified power, all 800bhp of it.

The car is currently under wraps, with development led by a team comprising of engineers from the Honda Performance Development and Auto Development Centre, as well as designers from the North America Auto Design Division of American Honda.

And it's said to be a track beast, with the video footage above showing the car being driven on a circuit instead of an off-road track.

All will be revealed come 28 February 2023.
