Honda has released a new video that takes viewers into the construction of the 800bhp CR-V Hybrid Racer.
Nicknamed 'The Beast' by the engineers responsible for its development, the hand-fabricated CR-V Hybrid Racer took a total of 14 months of development and is now said to be the world's only SUV powered by an IndyCar drivetrain.
Conceived and designed by Honda Performance Development (HPD) in Southern California, the car is designed to serve as a rolling laboratory for development of Honda's other electrified motorsport programmes. It is additionally said to have been constructed at Honda's North American Automotive Development Centre in Ohio by an all-volunteer group of enthusiasts who dedicated their weekends, vacation time and holidays to the build.
